REC Wellness Centre works, says grateful mom

They stem from strong religious foundations instilling the Word of God in everything that they do.

The REC Wellness Centre is a non-profit organisation that turns around the lives of young men and women struggling with addiction.

I am speaking from experience. I am a parent of someone that has received, and still is receiving, the greatest help ever. The support, counselling, dedication, commitment and love they show the people is phenomenal. They take a situation which is dire and turn the tables on the entire situation.

They get by with very little. In fact, they could certainly do with donations and sponsors. They ensure that the guys have three balanced meals each and every day. This is not easy in itself.

They provide hope where there was only despair before. They are responsible for giving people back their lives. Families are able to reconcile because of the work that they do. They stem from strong religious foundations instilling the Word of God in everything that they do.

But they have now received the news that someone who does not understand, nor has taken the time to find out about the good that they do, wants to have them shut down. This would be a catastrophe. Where will they do the good work that they do? What about the people in the programme?

This is not Godly in any way; a lot of lives will be affected.

Every parent just wants the best for their children. The REC Wellness Centre becomes the parent, teaching, guiding, loving, coaching when we cannot, to give us back our children. For this I will be eternally grateful.

I implore you, do not judge a book by its cover. Give them the support they deserve. Don’t think for one second it cannot happen to you as a parent. Let me tell you, addiction is more prevalent than any of us would dare to admit.

Support the good work that they do. Please!
