Horizon International High School is looking forward to hosting 24 primary schools in a soccer tournament in May,” he said.

The tournament helps us to come together and build lasting friendships. It is not all about winning, but also about having fun.
“I fell in love with the game at a very young age because of my dad, Ntokozo Mkhonza, he is my inspiration. However, I look up to Stephen Curry; he is my role model,” explained Owethu.

Horizon International High School learner Thabo Hlatshwayo said the games helped them de-stress from schoolwork. “It allows us to express ourselves. The game wasn’t bad, but we could have played better. We need to fix a few mistakes and stay as aggressive as possible. Be in control and don’t rush our play, stay composed,” he said.

Komohelo Likotsi from Sir John Adamson High School said they had their moments to push the ball offensively.
“We struggled to get the ball. The difference is that we couldn’t catch the ball. We need to improve on that and catch the ball after a break. I like this tournament as it brings out team spirit, fun, brotherhood and winning,” he said.
