New dojo in south of Johannesburg

Two experienced SA JKA instructors with over 50 years of karate training and teaching experience have opened a new traditional karate dojo in Mondeor.

Two senior instructors from SA JKA have recently started a new Dojo in the South of Johannesburg.

The instructors, Earl Opperman and Gert Aucamp, are both 6th Dan in Japanese and are on the Technical Board of SA JKA.

Both Opperman and Aucamp have been involved in running Dojos and have produced many black belts and champions. Both have over 50 years of experience and are actively involved in all aspects of training.

The Dojo is situated in the Beacon of Light Oasis Community Centre, 30 Daleham Road, Mondeor (where the old NG Church had been through the years).

“Do not hesitate to contact us. We can structure class times to accommodate different groups. We invite people of all ages, from 5 years old to senior citizens. Everybody is welcome. We specialise in traditional karate and self-defence,” they said.

For more information, contact Earl Opperman at 082 900 6758, Gert Aucamp at 082 446 5083, or Leo Kirsten (centre manager) at 061 907 4778.
