Bassonia soccer icon among the panel at Diski Fan Park at Emperors
Bafana Bafana are playing against Czechia on June 18.
There was no DNA, just RSA, at Emperors Palace’s Diski Fan Park held in the Red Roman Shed as soccer fans came in their droves to support the boys in green and gold in their 2026 FIFA World Cup opening game against hosts Mexico on June 11.
To add to the excitement, a panel of former professional soccer icons, Solomon Mathe of Vanderbijlpark, Abednego Netshodwe of Bassonia, Papi Zothwane also of Vanderbijlpark, and Joseph Molongoane of Alexandra shared their opinions on the game before kick-off and at half-time.

Bafana Bafana supporters dressed up and showed up for the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup opening game.
While there weren’t too many highs for SA in their 2-0 loss against Mexico, Bafana Bafana still have plenty to play for in their remaining two pool games.
Fans are invited to show up at the Palace of Dreams’ fan park at the Red Shed again to support the team in their second group game against Czechia on June 18.

Diski Fan Park doors open at 16:00 and entry is free but supporters will need to become Winners Circle members to obtain tickets as space is limited.
