I am responding to the article of Theo Wassenaar Primary about the R150 for the text books.
Truly the matter was raised at the general meeting last year October 30. We as parents agreed to the option of R150, not the school. If the complainants were there, they could have raised their concerns. These are parents who do not want to participate in school activities and run to the newspapers.
I believe we all want the best for our children. Let’s do it the right way. We have to realise that if we want the best education for our children, we need to be part of it with the teachers and SGB.
R150 is a small price you have to pay to make things easier for our children. How much money do you spend on eating out and entertainment and you come and complain. I am happy about the money I paid for my child for the text book. This parent must go to CNA or any other bookshop to check how much a text book costs. I know because my eldest child just started high school and I spent R2 500 only on text books.
Theo Wassenaar Primary is a good school and the teachers and principal are doing the best to give our children the best education. I know it because I have been a parent for the past seven years now, eight with my young child. Let us work with the school and stop complaining about petty issues. I bet the complainant is a female who spends more than R150 per month on hair and nails.
Come with a positive solution for the best interest of the education of our children. We choose the school because it is the best, now we want to drop its standard. Come on people, we cannot allow that to happen. We cannot get everything from the government.
