Three caught with unlicensed gun

Suspects pretending to be looking for a petrol station while driving around with a dangerous weapon.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Three suspicious looking men, who were driving around pretending to look for a petrol station in Mondeor, on October 5, were caught by a patroller before they had a chance to commit any crimes.

“It is alleged that the Sector 2 Crime Forum member suspected three occupants who were driving a Hyundai Elantra, pretending to be look for a petrol station. A member of the Sector 2 Crime Forum contacted the sector manager, Sergeant Algernon Smith, who arrested the suspects in Columbine Street, Mondeor, and they were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm,” said Mondeor SAPS Constable Sibongile Elizabeth Mnguni.

The suspects, aged between 23 and 30 years old, were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and taken to Mondeor SAPS.
