Festival of Chariots is staged around the world
The parade set to take place in December is guaranteed to be a memorable one.
THE Festival of Chariots is an international festival which has taken place throughout all corners of the globe, in over 100 countries and for the nineteenth year, will also be hosted here in the South on December 3 and 4 at Lenasia Soccer Stadium.
South Africa has also been a part of this incredible phenomenon. Durban, Cape Town and Pretoria have been hosts to this unifying, dynamic festival. This festival has often been described as a revolutionary one world mardi gras – hosted in all the major cities of the world.
Festival of Chariots, or Ratha Yatra as it’s traditionally known, is a celebration of love which envelops the community marked by a conflation of colour, credence in chorus, energised dance and infusion of multi-cultural splendour. The original festival was held in Jagannatha Puri, India and still remains as one of the world’s largest annual festivals
The parade set to take place in December, is guaranteed to be a memorable one and entrance is free. One can expect to experience amazing varieties of entertainment, including musicals performed by London-based performers; the legendary festival of chariot procession; incredible soulful song; dazzling dance performances; and tantalising cuisine to delight the tastes of all.
Children will be enchanted by the kid’s corner, as the adults enjoy the theatrical, dramatic, musical performances on showcase. Local and international artists are billed to be performing.

· A chariot parade (Sunday, December 4).
