Community comes together to help couple get married
Help4Souls helps people in need in the South of Johannesburg.
NPO Help4Souls in South Hills helped Moffat View couple Charmaine and Richard Condesso to get married.
The organisation planned and executed the wedding with the help of community members. Help4Souls main administrator Ester Roselt said she knew the couple from the area.
“Charmaine asked if we could help them get married. They didn’t have most of the things for the wedding, including the suit, dress, food, cake and the venue.
“We came together as an organisation and asked around for help. Fortunately, people came forward and helped. This couple was going to have a normal wedding day at Alberton Home Affairs; however, with the help of the community, they had the best day of their lives on May 10. The reception was held at 5th Avenue in Alberton,” she said.

Charmaine thanked everyone who helped during the preparation of the wedding.
“We appreciate what Help4Souls has done for us, especially Ester and Rosey. Our day was special. I met my husband, Richard, in January 2020 and I’m glad I am married to him. Again, thank you, everybody,” she said.
About Help4Souls
The organisation secures and survives from donations from various sponsors and donors. It has a database for people in need.

“We help everyone, irrespective of race or culture. When you need help, we help. Some of our sponsors include Hope SA, RML Foundation, Joburg Market, Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame and individuals in the community.
“Our community is in dire need of food, and with so many people now without an income, more and more children are going to bed hungry. We cannot change the world, but nobody has to go to bed on an empty stomach. Let’s make a difference together. Our members have been involved in different projects before and they have experience in dealing with the community. We help people from South Hills, Alberton, Turffontein, Rosettenville, Glenesk and The Hill,” she said.
