Four die in crash near Volksrust

Multiple people were injured in the accident that occurred on the R23 between Perdekop and Volksrust.

Four people were killed on the R23 between Perdekop and Volksrust shortly before midnight.

According the the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga, a Volkswagen Golf collided sideways into a Peugot sedan, after which it crashed into a minibus taxi that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Four of the victims were occupants in the Golf and they include the driver and three passengers.

Twelve people, including the driver and passengers in the minibus sustained serious injuries and they are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Two people, who were the only occupants in the Peugeot sedan, were not injured but were also taken to hospital for observation.
