FORTY underprivileged children from Eldorado Park, Johannesburg received a treat from four local women while on holiday at Transhaven Homes in Treasure Beach recently.
Sadé Lochenberg, Louanne Potgieter, Christine van Nieker and Asanda Majali treated the children to a movie and games evening to make their visit to Durban a fun and memorable one. “There is nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up having fun and forgetting about their worries,” said Sadé. With the help of family and friends, the women were able to make the visit a success by donating treat and gifts.
As part of the Activate Training Programme, which teaches and allows people to empower and make a difference in their communities, the women decided to treat the children as their first project. They look forward to volunteering their time renovating homes in the community, as well as assisting children with lunch at school.
Community members can get involved by contacting them for upcoming events, by donating, assisting with planning and offering services where they can. Organisations that need help can also contact them as they would like to be of assistance. Call Sadé
