Robert, Moses take top spot in Big Jim’s bowls comp

AT WENTWORTH Bowling Club, Zonia’s bold and beautiful bowls played on Tuesday morning was won by ‘Bolds’ Colin Nicholas and Rick Blann, and the sportsmen’s prize was taken by the ‘Beautiful’s’ Ina Davies and Margaret Walters.
In the ‘hows ur fatha’ played on Wednesday morning, first prize went to Bob Hayward and Eric Miller with 4+23, while second prize went to Keith Wild and Jumbo Nel with 4+8. The second session went to John Somerville and Stan McKenzie.
The 60/40 board was won by Fred Andrew and Ina Davies. Stan McKenzie will cook the roast.
The first prize winners in the women’s skips played on Thursday afternoon were Louisa McGlynn and Johnny du Plessis with 4+12, second prize went to Cora van der Westhuizen and Dirk Venter with 4+9.
The first session prize was taken by Ina Davies and John Somerville, and second session went to Elsie Gill and Hilton Lassak.
The 60/40 board was won by Ina Davies and Ellen Loots. Ken Koch won the meat raffle.
In the men’s Friday casual bowls results, first prize went to Bill Addinal, Syd Rust and Brian Deats with +15. Second prize was won by Jumbo Nel, Derrick Stevans and Fred Andrew with +11. The sportsmen’s prize went to John Somerville, Eric Miller and Stan McKenzie. Gerald Castor Royle is cooking the beef this week, and Ron Gillespie is roasting the pork. The first 60/40 board went to Mary Weber and Andy Cloete, the second board was won by Jumbo Nel and Willie Gerricke.
In the Big Jim played on Sunday, first prize was taken by Robert Mhlongo and Moses Nuba with 4+35. Second prize went to Terry Micholson and Rick Blann with 4+30. Second session was won by Ken and Sonja Koch. The first 60/40 board went to Kitty Schaefer and Robin de Gouveia and second 60/40 board was won by Ellen Loots and again Robin de Gouveia. The whisky raffle was won by Lilah Nel and Bob Hayward took the meat raffle.
The next Big Jim will be on Sunday, 25 August.

Every Wednesday at 2pm, all are welcome at family and friends tabs in. Every Friday at 9am, it’s the men’s casual bowls. Members must see the board for games posted.
