Charity begins at home
EDITOR - I was just looking at previous articles, specifically the one with regards to donating books to the SPCA.
I have a friend who has a large number of books she wants to give to the SPCA, however, they were quite specific in what they wanted, and have decided in the end that they do not want the books.
Now, talk about biting the hand that feeds you? It is a collection of information books, reading books and text books.
The cheek – how can they be so picky? I understand why people do not support the SPCA and it is no wonder. It is a case of please donate “money preferably”. Is this at the cost of the animals under their care? I usually donate to animal charities, but of late due to the fussiness of these charities I have decided, and I know a lot of my friends have also decided, that charity begins at home. When they get their attitudes right and become grateful for any donation, they will start to reap the benefits in their endeavours to educate us about correct animal care. Until then I pity the poor animals and understand why no-one gives a damn. They brought it on themselves. It’s such a shame – they need to understand they are doing it for the animals, not for their pockets. I am totally disgusted and ashamed to be called a human.
