Business learnership bursaries up for grabs
SOUTH Durbanites have the opportunity to be awarded a bursary for a Business Administration 2 learnership starting in October.
Seta-accredited private training provider, Dionysus Skills Development Initiative was awarded 40 study bursaries for candidates in the Durban South area for the learnership, which is a nationally registered certificate, consisting of classroom learning and workplace experience.
Beneficiaries will have to attend class five days a month and work at a selected organisation for the 10 to 12 months of the learnership. The bursary will cover tuition fees and a monthly stipend for each
recipient.
Applicants must have a matric certificate, be between the ages of 23 and 35, and may not have done a previous learnership. Applications will take place at the Dionysus offices, 708 Marine Drive, Bluff between 8am and 2pm on Thursday and Friday, 15 and 16 August. Matric certificates and ID books must be produced, and the interview will include and assessment.
If accepted, candidates will receive letters of introduction to secure a workplace host for the duration of the learnership. Business owners are urged to become involved in the programme, offering opportunities for these youngsters to gain workplace skills, which will require no financial outlay on their part.
Anyone able to assist with workplace hosting may contact the learnership programme manager, Nikki Wilton, or her assistant, Val Nelson on 031-467-5640 or 031-467-0816, or email e-mail training@dionysus.co.za.
