Stolen truck recovered within two hours

SWIFT response from Montclair SAP members led to the recovery of a stolen truck on Saturday, 3 August.

Yellowwood Park resident, Bhekisigcilo Nzama (63), owner of Wosiy–‘E’ Driving School, parked his truck in the parking lot outside Shoprite in Kenyon Howden Road while he was busy shopping. He returned to the parking lot a few minutes later to find his vehicle missing.

“I was shocked when I did not find my truck where I had parked it. I thought soemone was playing a joke on me, but I had the keys on me,” said Bhekisigcilo.

After the initial shock, he called a friend who took him to the police station where reported the theft. Officers immediately started searching for the vehicle, and it was recovered two hours later in Isleworth Avenue, 2km away from where it went missing. The driver’s door lock and ignition had been tampered with but nothing else was missing from the vehicle.

Bhekisigcilo thanks Montclair SAP for their vigilance and speedy response. Communications officer, Lt Jojozi commends the officers on a job well done.
