ABBEY McDivett did a sterling job when she stood in for Naomi as chairman at Montclair Seniors Club’s monthly meeting.
In spite of a number of hitches, she came through tops. Well done Abbey.
Rev Ansie Liebenberg opened the meeting with devotions and a wonderful illustration of abundant Christian life.
Abbey welcomed everyone, especially visitor Henry Welgemoed. The many apologies received were evident of many members being unwell. They were wished a speedy recovery as the club misses them. Those celebrating birthdays this month were wished a happy and healthy day.
Members were reminded that subs of R30 per year are needed to pay the expenses incurred to run the club and a new arrangement for the payment of tea was explained to all. If there are any snacks left these will be sold at R2 a plate. Members were also reminded that the competition table needs prizes and the ‘new for you’ table would welcome good quality goods for sale. Isobel announced the start-up of a basic healthcare clinic at the Traybang hall and Colin, Isobel and Joy Ford all had amazing stories to share.
After tea, members were entertained by Paul Fuhre and his band which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The next meeting of the seniors club will be on Monday, 12 September when all will be entertained by the marvellous Tafta Revellers. This is something to really look forward to.
