Aerobics sessions sees locals get physical
WOODLANDS resident, Junior Khumalo (27) has turned Montclair tennis courts into an aerobics studio.
For about a month now, over 50 locals have enjoyed free aerobics classes instructed by Junior. This initiative which has blossomed in the KwaMashu and Lamontville communities when Junior and Ndoda Ngonyama speared headed it, has finally made its way to Montclair. Having seen a need in the area for activities to keep youngsters occupied, along with a safety concern for joggers, the classes are a breath of fresh air.
“If the youth have too much time on their hands, they end up getting involved in wrong things. The classes give them something to look forward to,” said Junior.
“Many people stop by to have a look, even joggers stop running to have a look at what we are doing.”
Aerobics can help with stress issues, diabetes, irregular sleep patterns and cholesterol problems. The classes are open to everyone and take place Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, weather permitting.
