Family mourns death of Craig Porter

CRAIG Porter (46) of Yellowwood Park, was buried on Friday, 23 August following a motorcycle accident on Sunday, 18 August.

Craig was heading towards Pinetown to meet with a group of fellow biking enthusiasts when he collided with a diesel truck on the M7 . Skid marks on the road suggest he had attempted to brake from a distance but could not avoid colliding with the truck.

“Receiving the call about the accident was very traumatic. The family has experienced a lot of tragedy in a short space of time,” said his long-time girlfriend Ana Barbosa.

Craig and his daughter Roxanne (25) moved in with Ana in 2007. They started renovations to their house about two years ago. “I’m heartbroken that he won’t get a chance to enjoy the renovations. I was looking forward to cooking with him in the new kitchen,” said Ana.

Ana and Roxanne are grieving the death of their pillar of strength. “It’s still a shock, it’s not something you just deal with. I miss his sense of humour and his ‘cheesy’ grin,” said Roxanne.

“I miss him terribly, I feel a lot of pain for him. I have lost a future, he was the one I was meant to grow old with,” said a bereaved Ana.

Craig was a licensed motorcycle racer, avid fishing enthusiast and a capable carpenter.
