Care centre prepares St Monica’s girls for puberty
ANGELS of Mercy Care Centre enters its third and final week of presenting the Titus 'It's all me' programme to the young girls of St Monica's Children’s Home on the Bluff.
The programme teaches the young girls between the ages of 7 to 14 about the changes they will experience in their bodies during adolescence. Topics of discussion also include dating and relationships, acts of violence, rape and practical ways to avoid being kidnapped.
Angels of Mercy Care Centre’s director, Pat Bayley said: “The aim of the programme is to help the girls know, understand and have respect for their bodies as well as empower them to make good decisions about relationships and how to be safe.”
Members of the public are invited to attend the Angels of Mercy AGM on Saturday, 28 September at the New Covenant Fellowship Church, 166 Montclair Road from 10am until noon. Call Merle on 031-469-3705 to RSVP or email stantonm@telkmosa.net.
