WOODLANDS Women’s Institute president Maureen Lavis opened the meeting on 6 September with the saying of the Mary Stewart Collect and welcomed all present.
She was then congratulated on becoming executive for group.
Maureen gave an insight of congress, and the three resolutions that were passed, which include that affiliation fees will be increased on Saturday, 1 March 2014; plastic water bottles used must have the BPA mark; and maximum sentence for rapists.

Maureen closed the meeting at 12.15pm with the saying of the women’s institute prayer.
Woodlands WI meets at Montclair Recreation Hall on the first Friday of every month.
