The speaker is Clive Greenstone, local expert and consultant to eTkhekwini Municipality. He will give an illustrated talk on “Living Green Roofs” and show some photos of the roof gardens he has developed and visited. Living green roofs absorb carbon dioxide, provide insulation, absorb run-off and noise and reduce the ‘heat island’ effect of built-up areas, as well as beautify the harsh urban environment. Members of the public are welcome. The charge is R15 per person and will include refreshments.
