Arcadia Gardens are bloomin’ lovely
Good quality jumble is wanted urgently for the jumble shop at Arcadia Old Age Home.
JUDGES from Natalia Garden Club toured Arcadia Old Age Home on the Bluff on Friday, 25 October, and agreed that Arcadia resident’s gardens are lovely.
The winners and runners-up at the prize-giving held at the Arcadia hall on Saturday, 26 October were:
- Large garden: First Val Kleb, second Maggie Muller, third Pat Viljoen.
- Medium garden: First Denise Botha, second Esme van der Merwe, third Pam Willson
- Small garden: First Freda Smith, second Dorothy van den Bergh, third Annatjie van der Merwe and Marie Steyn.

At last their long months of work and battling the elements have paid off.
Good quality jumble is wanted urgently for the jumble shop at Arcadia Old Age Home, so if you are spring-cleaning and don’t know what to do with your discards, either take them to 36 Peacehaven Place and see Sheila Vermaak in room 1E, which is five down from the car gate, or call Yvonne Munro on 079-573-6268 and she will arrange to have them picked up.
The earnings from the Arcadia Jumble Shop funds all the tenants’ outings and functions so support the ‘golden oldies’.
