Give pool staff the resources for their job

The entire bottom of the pool is covered in thick piles of powdery brown algae.

EDITOR – I have been swimming at the Lieutenant King Pool on a daily basis for 20 years and I have never seen it looking as disgusting as it is at present.

The entire bottom of the pool is covered in thick piles of powdery brown algae.

The staff have been complaining for two or three years that their vacuum machine is not working properly, hence the algae. I tend to think the machine is not working at all, judging by the fact that the algae has not dissipated at all in recent weeks, in spite of the few cleans the pool has had lately. Surely it is time they were given the correct tools to do their job? A new vacuum cleaner.

It is probably better to have murky water because at least then you can’t see the algae.
