Wondering about ward committee

I would very much like to know from our local councillor whether members of the Ward Committee have in fact given all the required reports.

EDITOR – I understand some time back that Ethekwini Municipality decided it was necessary to have a ward committee comprising of I think 10 members all voted in by members of the community to assist the ward councillor with several important matters prevailing in the area, such as safety and security, and to attend all various community meetings such as ratepayers, community policing and others.

I also understand that these appointed ward committee members are paid the sum of R1,000 per month by local ratepayers to attend such meetings and report to the councillor.

I would very much like to know from our local councillor whether members of the ward committee have in fact given all the required reports and attended all the necessary meetings regularly and whether they are in fact being paid R1,000 per month by ratepayers, even if they do not give the reports or attend the meetings?

I await her further report
