Vacant land a bugbear for neighbour
The level of service provided to me over the years has been pathetic.

EDITOR – AS per our conversation, the land between Kingsley Road and the back of Leinster Road has been neglected for years.
I have been living in Leinster Road for the past 15 years, this land has proven to be a breeding ground for burglars, as they hide in the high grass and watch our houses as well as use the land as an entrance and exit when burgling our houses.
My family and I, have been victims to five housebreakings and a few attempted breakings, due to this I have tried to contact Area Based Management office for Durban South Basin, over the past few years, I hold on for lengthy periods at a time and get no luck with speaking to various people, only to be told they are trying to get hold of the owner of the land and give him a penalty. This is the same story I hear every year, yet nothing is done. The latest update from the Durban basin yesterday, after many calls and different reference numbers, I was told, yet again that they are trying to find the owner, but will in the process send someone to cut the grass. However this process takes between eight and 12 weeks.
The level of service provided to me over the years has been pathetic. As a resident I think we deserve better service and the priority of the Durban ABM office should be to reduce crime levels, not leaving a breeding ground for criminal activity to increase.
I have provided photos of the land as it stands right now, as well as the people who use the land and attempt to enter my yard.
