Relax at musical picnic by the river

THERE'S no excuse - head for Toti River on Friday evening to help the animals and enjoy some good, live music.

Toti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling’s hope to have a local Botanic Gardens-type concert will see the first ‘Music by the River’ event take place this Friday, 16 May on the banks of the river near the civic centre.

The event has garnered the support of local bands Gus Brown, Loadshedder, Fools of Fate and Manuvah to Land and local DJ, MC and musician Shaun Callaghan has put his weight behind the initiative.
The band members have also started collecting blankets, food donations and bric-a-brac for the SPCA’s benefit, and anyone is welcome to add to that collection by taking their donations along on Friday.
If all goes according to plan, it will be an evening unrivalled by any other, as this event is a first for Toti.
The local SPCA branch aims to provide an evening where the audience can relax under the stars while you picnic with family and friends, all while knowing you are helping the SPCA to make a difference in the lives of many, needy animals. With tickets on sale at great prices, you can’t afford to miss out. The event runs from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, 16 May. Buy your tickets beforehand at the SPCA premises or at the gate. Adult tickets cost R50, scholars R20 and pensioners R20. Children under six enter free of charge.
The SPCA will deploy car guards to ensure vehicles’ safety, and a jumping castle will keep the children entertained.
