Child protection brochure raises awareness
PARENTS, guardians and caregivers received much needed assistance in the form of literature about child safety on 27 May.
In light of National Child Protection week, Brighton SAPS launched a programme which will empower parents in aspects such as creating a safe environment for their children. The programme was launched on 27 May by Brighton Beach police communication officer Captain Louise Le Roux.
Management of Hillside Mall, and ADT Security joined the child protection campaign. Locals and visiting parents received a brochure on child protection facts researched by Capt Le Roux. Children received a colour fun activity book from SAPS, which included colouring activities based on safety facts in the 11 official languages.
Some 1,000 copies of the brochure were distributed and 500 are available at cash points on various stores at Hillside Mall.
