Heart disease support group to meet
The next support group meeting takes place on Monday, 23 June in the nurses dining hall, second floor of Life Westville Hospital.

MENDED Hearts is a monthly support group meeting co-ordinated by the Heart and Stroke Foundation SA (HSF), which helps those affected by heart disease and strokes.
With cardiovascular disease being the second biggest killer in SA, the HSF aims to create awareness about cardiovascular disease and make it known to the public that it is a lifestyle disease which can affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
Mended Hearts aims to give educational support and advice to cardiovascular disease survivors and their families, care givers and so on. The HSF in collaboration with Life Healthcare assists members through the recovery process by inviting speakers who are experts in related fields, to provide them with advice and support.
The next support group meeting takes place on Monday, 23 June in the nurses dining hall, second floor of Life Westville Hospital at 5.30pm, when refreshments are served. The talk by endocrinologist, Dr S Maharaj begins at 6pm. The topic of the talk is ‘diabetes and its effect on the heart’.
