Power outages cut seniors club meeting short

Next month we have Stainbank WI choir to entertain us.

MONTCLAIR Senior Citizens Club started its meeting in the dark this month but fortunately the hard working kitchen women were prepared for the unexpected and were able to serve tea and snacks while members waited for the lights to come on again.

Deacon George Beetar led devotions and had everyone singing ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’. Craig Hanson had been in Durban and met Naomi who was pleased to report that he is doing well.

Members were sad to hear that Cynthia MacFarlane and Jeanne Botha had died. It was lovely to welcome another three new members and everyone hopes the first-time visitors enjoyed themselves and will join again soon. As usual, there was time for jokes and competition draws. The entertainment by Fanie’s Jukebox was swinging along when there was another power outage, which brought the meeting to an early close. Next month, Stainbank WI choir will entertain.
