Food tunnel to feed pupils
A new food tunnel at Dirkie Uys will give pupils a full stomach.

DIRKIE UYS Primary School is the proud recipient of a food tunnel, which will go a long way to supporting its Munchkins initiative that feeds more than 80 pupils daily.
As part of Talisman Hire Durban South’s efforts to give back to their communities in a meaningful manner, the food tunnel was handed over on Wednesday, 10 September, by director, Ernest Jonck, with the assistance of the Amanzimtoti Community Upliftment Progect (AMCUP).
The school’s eco club under the management of Ms Naidoo will care for and monitor the food tunnel with the aim of providing food for pupils and any excess will be given to families in need.
