A WARRANT of arrest has been issued through the Brighton Beach FCS unit for Kasongo Tshikoyi, who absconded after being released on bail.
The 32-year-old, who also goes by the name ‘Rasta’ was arrested for the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman in Glenwood on 3 February.
Following his arrest, he appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court, where he was granted bail and was expected to reappear in court at a later date. When he failed to show up, a warrant of arrest was issued. It is believed he may be in Yeoville, Gauteng, but this is unconfirmed.
Tshikoyi was a taxi driver who operated in Ladysmith, Durban and Pongola. Anyone with information on him should call investigating officer, Constable Samantha Fynn on 031-203-7334 or 082-930-8615 or the Crime Stop hotline on 08600-10111.
