Schools safety project tours 15 facilities
Bluff schools get training from police.
THE Brighton Beach SAPS safer schools project was given a new lease on life when police toured 15 schools with the aim of safeguarding local youths.
The project, originally a community project for the first day of the school year, was extended with a 15-school tour. Preventive measures were listed in the 7,350 brochures distributed to the schools within the Brighton Beach policing area.
“The purpose of this campaign is to assist parents, guardians and caregivers on how to condition their children to minimise the risk of becoming victims of crime when not under their direct supervision,” said Brighton Beach media officer, Captain Louise Le Roux, who piloted the project.
