Wentworth ECD centre runner-up in awards.
“The award is an acknowledgement that we are striving for excellence in ECD and also serves as motivation for the ECD teachers in our centres,”
LITTLE David Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre brought more accolades to Wentworth ECD by being named first runner-up in the best ECD centre award in the KZN Early Childhood Development Awards.
Of the 4,000 entries, Little David was shortlisted in the final five. After all their documentation was verified and the centre was inspected, principal Pearl Windvogel and teacher, Noblene Boyles were invited to attend the awards ceremony.
Boyles, who won the SA’s 2013 best ECD teacher award was also a special guest speaker at the event, where Little David ECD Centre placed as first runner-up, behind Sigcawu Crèche from Cato Ridge. Along with a certificate, the centre was given a cash prize.
Windvogel, who has been working in the ECD sector for more than 30 years, said she was overwhelmed and humbled. “The award is an acknowledgement that we are striving for excellence in ECD and also serves as motivation for the ECD teachers in our centres,” she said.
The Wentworth ECD Forum congratulates Little David ECD Centre for making the community proud.
