WITH the 10th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday, 21 March, the Bluff’s Beverly Palmer joins the Down Syndrome Association KZN in calling on families to focus on the positive contribution they can make towards the enjoyment of equal rights for people with Down Syndrome.

Palmer, whose daughter has Down Syndrome, hopes people will take some time to think about the challenges that people with Down Syndrome face. Down Syndrome International (DSI), of which Down Syndrome Association KZN is affiliated, encourages people to choose activities and events to raise awareness of Down Syndrome, what it means to have it, and how people with Down Syndrome play a vital role in communities.
