Fun day of bowls at Woodlands this weekend
On Friday night the meat draw went to Andy Cox winning twice and Chantel.

ON Saturday afternoon, there were four club competitions played at Woodlands Bowling Club.
There were two women’s singles games between Colleen Blenner-Hassatt and Linda Hewer.
They played 25 ends and the final score was Linda 21 and Colleen 20. Rina Harper and Daphne Els played in the other singles game with Rina winning 21–5.
The men’s singles game played between Harold Dix and Dennis Holloway also got underway with Harold the victor on 21–4. In the men’s nominated pairs competition, Bill Hewer and Arthur Carlyle beat Brian Kimber and David Lloyd with a score of 22-10.
On Sunday the Remax shirts and skirts pairs competition was played in hot, humid weather. First session went to Terry Brown and Derek Stevens on a 2+10. Second session was won by Andy Cloete and David Lloyd on 2+9. Overall winners were Jumbo Nel and William Richardson on a 4+20 and in first place was Phil Pietersen and Val McCaffrey on 4+22. Jumbo Nel and Harold Dix grabbed the R40 each from the money board and the dregs of R20 each went to Val Macaffrey and Marieta. Terry Brown won the meat raffle and the drawn prizes went to Harold Dix, Lindi, Chantel Hearnshaw and Barbara Neil.
On Sunday, 29 March the club will be having a fun day sponsored by Remax. Join in and have fun while playing bowls and meeting new friends. Bowls will be supplied to those who don’t have. Wear flat soled shoes. Names are to be in by 8.30am for start of play at 9.30am. Entry fee is R10 and tea, coffee and snacks will be available halfway through the game at R6.

Woodlands will be starting April with a fun-filled Easter hunt and party for children on Sunday, 5 April.
On 10 and 11 April, there will be a camp-out at the club. Feel free to take your caravans and tents and join in. Security will be on hand for your safety. There will be entertainment for the children. The adults can enjoy a potjie competition on Saturday with breakfast available from the kitchen. There will also be music in the bar on Saturday with a special on shooters. This promises to be an awesome weekend with plenty of entertainment for adults and children.
