SATURDAY, 11 APRIL: Durban Botsoc committee member Jabulani Memela leads an outing for children aged eight to 12 accompanied by an adult to experience the forest and grasslands and view the dams and game of Stainbank Nature Reserve in Yellowwood Park at 9am. The reserve fee is R20 per adult or R10 per child. Non-members are welcome but are asked to pay an additional R10 donation per adult or child to BotSoc. Numbers are limited. TUESDAY, 14 APRIL: Montwood Senior Citizens Care Centre holds an open day event entitled ‘celebrate seniors’ at Tray Bang Hall, 199 Kenyon Howden Road from 9am to 2pm. This event will showcase the services offered by the MSCCC and to spoil some seniors with tea, coffee, muffins and perhaps a manicure or pedicure. Blood pressures and sugar testing will be provided free of charge and all senior citizens in ward 64 are most welcome. SATURDAY, 18 APRIL: Jehovah’s Witnesses will hold an assembly. About 700 people are expected to attend the event at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre. This is a semi-annual event attracting witnesses and non-witnesses from Scottburgh to the Bluff. The theme is ‘Keep Seeking Jehovah’s Righteousness,’ which is based on Matthew 6:33.
