Truck overturns on M7 onramp

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will investigate further.

A TRUCK driver and a pedestrian were injured after a heavy goods vehicle lost control on a bend and overturned on Sydney Road onramp to M7 Edwin Swales just before 9am on Sunday, 24 May.

“Rescue Care paramedics expected the worst, seeing the truck on its side. The cabin was completely crushed on the barriers. Fortunately the driver who had sustained moderate injuries had managed to get out of the truck with the help of bystanders. A pedestrian walking on the sidewalk had sustained minor injuries after being knocked by the truck as it came to a stop. Rescue Care paramedics treated both patients on scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals,” said operations director, Garrith Jamieson.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will investigate further.
