Vigilance aids recovery of stolen cars

At about 4pm a Durban North home was broken into. Car keys were taken and a blue VW Polo and white Nissan Micra were stolen.

Later that day, while on patrol in Cathcart Road in Woodlands, Montclair communications officer, Warrant Officer Poobalan Marimuthu spotted a blue Polo parked on the road. A vehicle check revealed it was stolen.

While speaking to the owner of the car, he was told of the other stolen vehicle. W/O Marimuthu circulated the details of the Micra to local police and within minutes, it was found by the provincial task team in Umlazi.

Once the police had searched the cars for evidence, they were given back to their relieved owners.

Montclair SAPS management commends the police officers on the swift recovery.
