A MAN accused of breaking into a house on The Bluff was arrested after he allegedly tried to gain entry to the property through the garage recently.

According to the Operations Manager for Fitama Protection Services, Richards Hawskworth, officers received information via the Bluff RTL8 Group and Bluff CPF Group regarding a house break-in that was in progress on The Bluff.

“The Special Operations Unit immediately mobilised and proceeded to the reported property. Bluff CPF members, together with RTL8 members, also responded to the scene. Upon arrival, members noticed that the property gate was open. The members tactically entered the premises to investigate. As the members entered the property, the suspect noticed their presence and attempted to flee,” said Hawskworth.

The Special Operations Unit responded swiftly and managed to apprehend the suspect before he could escape.

“It was established that the suspect had removed the aluminum surrounding a window in an attempt to gain access to the residence. He was detained at the scene and handed over to Brighton Beach police, who took him into custody for further investigation and processing,” he added.
