THE Bluff Alliance plans to establish a database to provide assistance to the community, with a focus on the elderly.
At a meeting with senior citizens at St Barnabas Anglican Church on Tuesday, 28 July, Bluff Alliance co-ordinator, Ivor Aylward spoke about his plans. Presently, the BA plans to open an office to allow community members to meet with them and voice their concerns.
Following the formation of this office, Aylward will create a database, with senior citizens at the fore. The Bluff Clinic Committee’s Pam Smith has offered to share her database of residents in this regard, allowing the BA to hit the ground running.
A group of volunteers will be enlisted to offer assistance to the elderly with concerns raised within the database, such as maintenance issues.
The BA also plans to provide sponsorships to the elderly to reduce the costs of transport for collective outings, according to Aylward.
