WEDNESDAY, 26 AUGUST: Social bingo at Fynnlands Soccer Club every Wednesday at 7pm for 7.30pm. All are welcome. For more information, call Debbie on 082-040-7855.

FRIDAY, 28 AUGUST: Bazaar at the Dutch Reformed Church Durban-East hall, 42 Montclair Road, Montclair from 4pm until 7pm. There will be lots to eat so give yourself some time off in the kitchen and enjoy supper. For more information, call the church on 031-467-2392.

FRIDAY, 28 AUGUST: Vumbua Management Services in partnership with the Anglican Church Parish of Woodlands, Montclair and Yellowwood Park will host a women’s only gala dinner at 6.30pm for 7pm at St Etheldreda Church hall, 243 Kenyon Howden Road, Montclair. Tickets cost R150 per person which includes a three course dinner and live entertainment. Durban’s own rising star Ndu Shezi is the main performer. SATURDAY, 29 AUGUST: Clairwood Tamil Institute hosts an extraordinary Kannan Veeramani concert at 59 Sir Kurma Reddi Road, Clairwood at 5pm. Dinner is included. For tickets call Vaijeshwari on 079-502-7654. This is an institute fundraiser.

SATURDAY, 29 AUGUST: DR Church Fynnland hosts a hobbies and craft day at 303 Lighthouse Road from 8am. There will be demonstrations through the day and lots of fleamarket stands. There will also be a class in ‘shabby chic’ painting technique. For more information about stands, call 072-218-9182.

SUNDAY, 30 AUGUST: St Louis Catholic Church in Clairwood holds its annual fête at the church grounds from 11am to 6pm. Mass will be celebrated at 9.30am. Foodstalls, beer garden, cool drinks, ice cream, burgers, wors rolls, chips, lamb on the spit, chicken tikka, breyanis, curries, games, music, plants, white elephant, clothes, and many more. SUNDAY, 6 SEPTEMBER: The smell of greasepaint got to much for entertainer Colin Penn and his Pennants, Mike Cameron and John Corlett and after a ‘sabbatical’ of 18 months, they have a really fun show of the best snippets of Colin’s 61-year career at Toti Civic Centre supper room.
