Entrepreneurs place third in national competition

INNOVATIVE Minds, a team of young entrepreneurs from South Durban place third in the first JA South Africa Citi Company of the Year Competition earlier this month.

On Thursday, 1 October, the team, which was made up of pupils from New Forest High School, Mowat Park High School, Grosvenor Girls High School and Durban Academy were the KZN contingent which competed in Johannesburg.

Under the tutelage of Nthato Malope Kairos, the group, along with the groups from the remaining provinces ensured their business pitches were ready to be presented to the judges.

Exhibition shells demonstrating their business included their trade booth, company financial reports and business presentation, while they answered business related questions from the judges.

The top five teams, with Innovative Minds included, were then invited to present to a final panel of judges on Saturday, 3 October at a cocktail event at Citi.

The KZN group placed third overall behind the team from the Free State and Limpopo.
