Do something about Leicester Road noise

EDITOR – We as residents in Woodlands mostly in Fairbrigde, Halifax and Bathurst roads who live near Leicester Road, are experiencing noise disturbances 24 hours a day.

During the day, the sound of TV or radio helps to curb this noise.

There is no way you can ignore the noise at night, however and you can hardly have peaceful sleep. The environment affairs department of Ethekwini is urged to take action against the firms the operate in Leicester Road.

Surely there are noise control regulations that should protect residents from such companies? Especially where industrial areas are closely located to residential areas.

Please help.
