An eight-year-old boy was found hanged in a tree behind his home in Bertram Place, Woodlands on Monday, 7 December.
According to Montclair SAPS communications officer W/O Poobalan Marimuthu, he was discovered around 12.30pm. The motive for the alleged suicide is unknown at this stage. No foul play is suspected at the moment.
“We urge parents and caregivers to be more vigilant and observant with children,” said W/O Marimuthu.
Police have opened an inquest into the boy’s death.
