Chocolate bar recall follows plastic find

Chocolates made in Netherlands in voluntary recall.

SUBSEQUENT to a piece of plastic being found in a Snickers bar in Germany, Mars, Incorporated has issued a voluntary recall of some of its products.

According to a press release issued by the company, a small piece of red plastic was found in one chocolate bar bought in the European country. The chocolate was made in a facility in Netherlands.

Mars believes this is an isolated incident, but has issued the recall as a precautionary measure. The recall applies to any Celebrations, Mars, Milky Way and Snickers products manufactured at the Netherlands facility from 5 December 2015 to 18 January 2016.

Look at the label of the confection. If it has ‘Mars Netherlands’ on it, it may be part of the recall. Go to www.mars.com/south-africa for more details.
