Steering team unchanged at Stainbank WI

STAINBANK Women’s Institute president Arlene Greenfield opened their recent meeting with a welcome to all visitors and members and a special welcome to executive member Maureen Lavis.

Many thanks to the members who attended this important meeting.

Thoughts are with Heather Sumpton who has had a fall and any members who are unwell. The executive member then proceeded with nominations for the AGM. The president kindly offered to remain, together with the treasurer, secretary and vice president. Stainbank WI committee members have also offered to remain. Thank you to all. All members who do extra duties also agreed to stand again.

WI members with the most points for competitions over the year were first Aileen Wiggill, second Sheila von der Zon and third Beattie Johnston Webber. Congratulations.

Once again the vice president has produced the booklet for the year, which is greatly appreciated. Members are urged to read the booklet and try to enter some competitions. Six members had full attendance for the year. The president and treasurer gave their reports for the year. Subs are now due. After tea there was an interesting and inspiring talk by John Johnson Webber on Rotary and the amazing work this organisation does for many charities all over the world.

What a disappointing turnout in the competitions – come on members, do give them a try. Many thanks as always to the judges.

Members should remember the Southern Hills Group AGM is on l April, hosted by Woodlands WI. There are some interesting competitions to enter.
