Residents warned to lock up

"Don't make it easy for the criminals who wait for the holidays to take advantage," - Montclair SAPS

MONTCLAIR SAPS warns the community not to indulge in the dangerous tendency it’s noticed among residents to leave gates and windows open.

Lately, according to communication officer, Lt Derek Vijiam, residents leave their gates or windows open while they are away. “It is also reported that valuable equipment is left unattended and in sight of opportunistic criminals who will take any chance to steal from houses,” said Lt Vijiam.
With Easter weekend  around the corner and many families expected to go away for the holidays, Montclair police urge residents to take responsibility in safeguarding their valuables and ensuring their property is properly secured. “Don’t make it easy for the criminals who wait for the holidays to take advantage,” he said.
