Police laud security officer

A BRIGHTON Beach SAPS prize-giving on Tuesday, 6 September acknowledged the work of a local security officer in an arrest last month.

“Security Force reaction unit officer, André van Loggerenberg was commended by Brighton Beach station commander, Colonel Carel Grobler on the arrest he executed singlehandedly on 20 August.

He apprehended a man who was part of a group of five who had stolen items from a business premises situated in Bayhead. Items recovered were valued at R120,000,” said media officer, Captain Louise Le Roux.

His vigilance and persistence were the key attributes rewarded.

“Brighton Beach SAPS management commends Van Loggerenberg for his continuous dedication and commitment towards the Brighton Beach policing precinct.”
