UNDERPINNING their iconic new national campaign, Sunflower Day, the Sunflower Fund in Durban will introduce their annual Sunflower Celebration at the Sea Cottage Room of the Greyville Convention Centre on Friday, 28 October at 6pm.
Tickets cost R250 per person or R2,500 per table which includes a Sunflower Tope, a delicious two course meal, an exciting auction, live music by band ‘Dishevelled’ and the multi-award-winning musical comedy, ‘Dear Breeder’, starring theatrical heavy-weights Karen Logan and Kasia Vosloo.
This laugh-a-minute production, directed by Iain ‘Ewok’ Robinson, is a mad-cap two-woman show inspired by the performers’ first-hand experience of being breeders themselves and is as absurd as the art of parenting itself. Fresh from their run at the Kalk Bay Theatre in Cape Town in March and with two sell-out runs at the National Arts Festival 2014/15 behind them, this award-winning musical comedy is set to captivate the audience.
Funds raised from the event will enable the Sunflower Fund to create awareness and to educate and recruit more stem cell donors to increase the number of people registered on the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) and offer the hope of life to someone suffering from a chronic blood condition like leukaemia.
