Two die in early morning crash on Durban’s M4

Their vehicle crashed into the barrier and a steel structure on the northbound carrriageway

Two men in their 30s have died after their vehicle crashed into a barrier and steel structure on the M4 northbound at the Quality Street off-ramp this morning (Sunday, 13 November).

Just after 1.30am, Rescue Care paramedics responded and found both the driver and passenger severely entrapped in the wreckage. Both were assessed and found to have sustained fatal injuries. They were both declared deceased at the scene. The Durban fire department used the Jaws of Life to free the two from the wreckage.

The cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will investigate.
