Ten first aiders trained in saving lives

It is important to have life-saving skills

A FREE first aid course was offered to 10 community members in Wentworth on Thursday, 10 November.

NPO St John sponsored the free course which was held at the Wentworth Victim Friendly Centre to empower and provide life-saving tools to the people who attended.

St John facilitator, Simphiwe Mzimela said the NPO sponsors many organisations and communities. “It is important to have life-saving skills, in the case of an emergency, such as drownings, fits or heart attack. The person who is equipped with these skills is able to stabilise the patient before the paramedics get there,” she said.

She encourages people to attend these courses, especially those who are look after children or the elderly.
